The StarHub Football festival featured two days of community and family fun with EPL and Singapore Legends which took place on the 20th and 21st April at Our Tampines Hub.
The two-day event kicked off with coaching sessions tailored for under-12 and under-16 aspiring footballers as well as workshops and meet-and-greet sessions on the first day, before the highly antipicated exhibition match between the EPL legends and the Singapore legends on the second day.
The EPL Legends made several public appearances and engagements including a Match Day Preview, a visit to the StarHub office, as well as participating in the Singapore Island Country Club May Day Charity Golf and Dinner event which benefitted local charities.
The StarHub Football Festival featured a roster of iconic star players who came together to promote, encourage and instil “FOOTBALL FOR ALL” into the community while also raising funds and contributing to three local charity causes namely Free Food For All, HCA Hospice & Dyslexia Association of Singapore. The event was also graced by Guest-of-Honour Minister Masagos Zulkifli, Minister for Social and Family Development, Second Minister for Health and Minister in charge of Muslim Affairs and Advisor to Tampines Grassroots Organization.
EPL Legends team saw the likes of David James, Dwight Yorke, Teddy Sheringham, John Arne Riise, Wes Brown, Glen Johnson, Lee Sharpe, Keith Gillespie, Patrick Berger, Vladimir Smicer.
Singapore Legends represented with Aleksandar Duric, Rafi Ali, Nazri Nasir, Daniel Bennett, Lionel Lewis, Baihakki Khaizan, Aide Iskandar, Indra Sahdan Daud, Qiu Li, Shahril Ishak.
Despite wet weather on both days, the Legends braved on and the fans made it a very memorable event with their overwhelming support and enthusiasm.
